Hershey's Organic Special Dark

Smells sharp and sweet. Sweet on my tongue. A little grainy. Something like a blanket over the experience. Heavy wet blanket. Super duper sweet. A little chalky. A little cool. Reminds me of rain getting into your tent.

Sam's Choice 85%

smells sweet and smooth like yellow sheets. surprisingly bitter at first on the tongue. bitter sharp. then baking. some of the smooth is coming back. slow melter. really coats your mouth. flat, heavy, and waxy. reminds me of earplugs. this is a good chocolate for trying to convince yourself you're doing something healthy by eating extra dark chocolate when you're not willing to spend much on that. it's like yeah we were good today let's reward ourselves some "candy" lol sob.

Green&Black's Organic 85%, Trinitario

Smells sweet and a little chalkey. Sharp and sour at first on the tongue. Then some bitter. It's a little like vomit? But there's solid footing under there. A reassuring even firm base, like stern but loving parents. I guess things aren't going so well at college and the kid wants to come home.

Ghirardelli 86% "Midnight Reverie"

Smells sweet and happy. Tastes... interesting. There's sour, and also a little bit of flowers under there. Sour and a little bitter, like a headache from the movie theater floor. It's like being in two places at once: Trying to go for a walk through the garden, but you keep flashing back and getting stuck to the sour movie theater floor. The sour headache seems to fade over time, though, and a calm quiet blankness persists.

Alter Eco 85% "Classic Blackout"

Smells sweet, sour, soft, happy. Sour on the tongue, and bitter. Reminds me of pennies. Nice chewy melty texture. Flat blank race-car-sound base. It's like robots made a chocolate and they've got the basic recipe right but they haven't figured out how to do anything with it yet.

Lindt Excellence 85%

Smells soft, light, and sweet. A gentle introduction on the tongue. Gradual. Opens up to a soft sort of curtsey. Some flowers, a twist of sourness but not too much, reminds me of orange rind and distant pipe smoke. Smooth gracious courteous, a very young woman in billowing cream clothes introducing herself, but doing so to familiar people whom she cares about. A re-introduction after a transition, trying not to startle. She's sure of herself, confident things will be all right regardless, but less sure she'll be accepted by others. A rose pinned to her shoulder-length brown hair.
